how much did it cost?
and was the original guitar the one you posted in the guitarists form as a bargain?
No, I bought this 421 in 02'. All together, it took about a year and a half to complete. That's not working on it every day mind you. I bargin hunted to get the best prices I could on parts I wanted, and the neck too a while to find. Including a UV1000 case, I've got right at $600 invested in it. that's including the original cost of the 421. The majority of the expense is tied up in the neck and the paint. --Jason

The line John Belushi uses in Blues Brothers while they're at the resturant trying to get Mr. Fabulous back in the band popped into my head. "How much for the little Girl?"
I think I'm going to be hanging on to this one for a while. --Jason

I did the body mods in my basement. That's where I've got my workbench and everything set up. I also painted the headstock down there with my airbrush. I did the paint on the body in my shop building. It's not heated, so I was kinda pressed to get it done before cold weather set in. --Jason

That's amazing! Nice job man!
I'm gonna buy an RG321 or RGT42DXFX and do something like that.
Very cool!

It's Dupont Chromabase, and Dupont ChromaClear. They're both automotive grade, two part Urethanes. --Jason

I've been thinking about doing something like this as well..
I couldn't find a 421, only 321.. (what's the difference ?)
The 321 has a Wizard II neck, can I put a normal Wizard neck on there as well and which necks can and cant I put on there ?
Also, is it much work going from pickup rings to direct mount ? and the knob and switch stay on the same place right ? Just get rid of the volume and then put the volume in the tone spot

I think the 421 is MIJ and the other in Korea.
Pickup rings can be taken off easily but you have to fill the screw holes.
All the knob locations have to be filled and redone if you want the PGM look and locations.
Not sure on the necks other than the 421 is an AANJ

and the 321 is Mahogani and the 421 basswood... Think I should go for it, or wait for a 421 ? Also it's quite hard to find the right neck

321 cost about 279 dollar on Ebay (complete guitar)
Since the neck is hard to find and probably expensive, I thought I'd just get a 321, paint it and change the pickups. I can always replace the neck later
