Good to see you playing again, man!

I've never got into his playing. Perhaps I was put off when I wasn't immediately blown away by everyone raving about him as a great shredder when I'd been listening to Shrapnel guys for years.

There are a fair few of us old hands who keep coming back to post. I suppose we need some topic to start running with.

I mean, Ed Yoon was using the Guthrie Govan forum as a kind of blog for a while. That's now even deader than here. :(

I wish he'd found a way to keep it more like it was when he did it all himself. :(
Just the other day it occurred to me that an Iron Maidens guitarist could be included on the list of musicians whose names are sentences...

I had a Facebook account in 2008, but that didn't make me even remotely want to dump the forums and spend all my time over there. Still doesn't. You guys are are a rare crew .... you have to have a paid account to post unlimited word tweets on Twitter, I found that out the other day when I registered, not liking the way things are going with Facebook and the bots that read all your private messages ....

I barely use Facebook, in fact I just deactivated my account. The news feed is the most negative waste of time I've ever experienced.

Times are changing, forums are dying, social media is only getting more popular.

Things won't ever be the same but at some point you have to embrace the change. It's the same with everything. If everything stayed the same forever, the Earth would be a pretty boring place.

Nostalgia is a dangerous state in which to live.
